We reviewed chapter 10 in class today. We talked a bit about Black Friday and how some of Walmart's systems went down. We also talked about systems development. We talked about the 5 steps of SDLC. Every system development must start with a specific, measurable goal that we are trying to achieve with this new system.

Well Matt and I were unable to help Ryan today, but he did place third! I place the responsibility of this finish to my expertise in telling how to click re-order a bunch of times. This was the game winner, unfortunately he was not able to do this as quickly as me... or something. Haha

We played the SAP game again and it is really complicated to use to be quite honest. I didn't like it at all. I felt like I was just "clicking random things" as you said. I guess after a while I would learn the hotkeys and shortcuts by heart, maybe I would learn how to do work it better after being a little more acquainted with it.

Today we learned a bit more about ERP and we learned a bit about the simulation for SAP. It seems super complicated and not exactly the easiest thing to use. From what we learned though it can be a very powerful tool that automates and regulates many things that would be impossible to do efficiently by hand.

We talked about ERP and MRPs. We learned the PeopleSoft is a form of an ERP, the most popular one. We also learned that the data from PeopleSoft is mined by Mapper which was created by Brother Colton. It's interesting to see that data can be created from data and that one of our professors on campus was able to create this on his own.
